SonixTablet touch screen ultrasound system wins the “red dot award: product design 2012”

Sonix is awarded for its innovative design in the life science and medicine category

Richmond, BC – March 14, 2012 – The Red Dot Design judging committee has selected the SonixTablet by Sonix as a winner of the red dot award: product design 2012.

The SonixTablet was selected for demonstrating product innovation in the life science and medicine category.   Creative heads and manufacturers from all over the world submitted 4,515 designs altogether to the renowned product competition.  A panel of 30 expert judges evaluated the submissions over the course of several days.

“It’s an honor and inspiration to be awarded the Red Dot award for the SonixTablet,” said Alex Antonio, mechanical designer at Sonix.  “We’re proud of our SonixTablet design – it was one of the first fully touch screen ultrasound systems on the market and was designed to be easy to use for clinicians.”

With more than 1,500 products on exhibit, the red dot design museum accommodates the world’s largest permanent exhibition of temporary design. From 3 to 29 July 2012, the museum will showcase a special exhibition of the award-winning products.
